LESSON - Day 1

• Make sure you format each text box, and add clip-art to your poster.

2nd Grade - SPACE Unit

LESSON - Day 1

• Students will watch "Earth" on BrainPOP Jr.
• Using Kerpoof, students will draw and print their own ALIEN!

LESSON - Day 2

• Using the ALIEN from last week, students will use Kidspiration to write a detailed description of their alien, and they will describe what planet they are from.

LESSON - Day 3

• Students will watch "Moon" on BrainPOP Jr.
• Using "Make a Picture" on Kerpoof, students will create a MOON CARTOON!
• Students must include at least 5 speech bubbles, and their name.

LESSON - Day 4

• Students will watch "The Sun" on BrainPOP Jr.
• Using "Make a Drawing" on  Kerpoof, students will complete the BrainPOP Jr. "Draw About It" activity and answer the question: "What are some ways you can protect yourself from the sun? Draw your answer."
• Students must write at least one sentence explaining their drawing.

LESSON - Day 5

• Students will watch "Solar System" on BrainPOP Jr.
• Using Kerpoof, students will draw one planet and write at least one fact about it.

1st Grade - Sounds in My Name

LESSON

• Using Kidspiration, we will drag and drop letters to form our name.
• We will scroll through the clip-art library to add pictures underneath each letter that begin with that letter!
• For example: If you have a “B” in your name, you could add a picture of a bear, banana, boat, or a bike.

• Students will learn about map symbols, and create their own community using our software Neighborhood Map Machine. 

LESSON - Day 2/3

• Students will watch the BrainPOP Jr. movie "Community Helpers" 
• On DAY 2 - students will learn how to draw Moby - as a practice round.
• On DAY 3 - Students will use Kerpoof to draw Moby as a community helper!
• They must write "Moby is a ______" and sign their name.

LESSON - Day 4

• Students will create a math word problem on the topic "communities" using our software, Kidspiration.

• Students will use Kidspiration to create a classroom map of the computer lab.
• Students will learn how to use the keyboard shortcuts to COPY and PASTE.
